Photo Hunt - Veterans/Military
I chose this picture of my dad in uniform during WWII because he's with his family. Family was very important to Dad. He didn't just say we were important, he lived it every day of his life.
(Yes, that Chuck of Secondary Roads in front - I wasn't born yet.)
You can find more pictures honoring the men and women who've put their lives on the line for their country at http://tnchick.com.

Aloha Friday
Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Where I ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. I hope you'll play along. Then ask your own question and go to Aloha Friday to link up and find more questions to answer.
The sibs and spouses in my hubby's family draw names each year for a Christmas gift exchange. We try to keep it simple because we're simple folks and it's not about the money, but the thought that goes into the gift. My DMIL gathers "wish lists" from all of us to help in choosing just the right gift.
The item at the top of my list this year is a CD of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They've been here at Michigan State University twice but it has not worked out either time that we could attend. So I'm going for the CD instead.
So here's my question:
What's at the top of your "wish list" this year? And which holiday do you celebrate?

Friday Quotes

Thursday Challenge - Food
"FOOD" (Fruit, Vegetables, Cookies, Candy, Meals, Food for Animals, Feast, Hungry,...)
I wish I could add the marvelous fragrance of this place to this post. These freshly roasted nuts smell so fantastic. There's also the smell of fresh popcorn. As you stand and take in the wonderful smells, you can look to your left and behind you and see displays of fresh candies. One of the workers told me they always try to buy from local candy makers. This store remains basically unchanged since the 1930s.
