Shadow Shot Sunday

Have you ever seen a brown shadow?  I was so startled when I reclined my chair and looked up at the ceiling.  The shadow looked like it had been painted on the ceiling with brown paint.  It was creepy!

Since I always try to figure out “why”, I did just that.  Just a few months ago we replaced all the carpet with dark walnut laminate flooring.  Across the room the floor lamp was turned on.  When I turned it off the shadow reverted to the dark gray you expect a shadow to be.  So the conclusion:  The reflection of the light from floor to ceiling took the brown color with it.  Cool, huh?
