U is for … Under

Like most things at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, this boardwalk is most under the sand.  In the parking lot we saw equipment to clear off the walkway.  I don’t know how often they actually clear it, but I’ve never been there when the walk wasn’t mostly under the sand.
